Splurge vs Steal : Garden Deck Chairs

1 May

I’m British and there’s nothing that quite says “summer is here” to me more than a good old garden deck chair (also known as a sling chair here in the USA!!).

This one is part of the new outdoor collection from Serena and Lily and it’s just gorgeous (and avail for pre-ordering right now). It has an old colonial style vibe to it with the bamboo marking effect on the teak frame . And the print is just fabulous.

But as with all things pretty , it’s not quite so cheap if you wanted to get a full set of them.  As an affordable alternative check out this plain red chair from Cost Plus World market.

At $76.99 for the frame and canvas sling you could get a similar vibe to the Serena and Lily chair and then add in one of their gorgeous print pillows as well. Voila – designer garden look for a third of the price! However you might not want to leave it outside to weather as it wont likely  last as well as the other one!!
