About Us

Our Little Family

We are a British couple with two young active boys living in the Bay Area and two years ago we bought our first and hopefully forever family home.

Interested in sustainable and green home design and being HGTV addicts we thought “That looks easy – we can do that”  and felt fully qualified (ahem!!) to take the plunge into the world of fixer’s and total home renovation. Naive huh?

We bought a 1950’s house with a 70’s addition (niice) on half an acre of land that hadn’t been updated since it was first built – yikes. We could see that it had great potential (can you say views of the bay!!!) , thankfully its structurally sound and it has a great potential but currently un-kid friendly garden & old pool. So we have A LOT  to fix on teeny tiny budget!  We are all living in it and renovating it at the same time  – which is slightly chaotic to say the least. We both work full-time in other jobs out of the home, and we have never done this before so this is going to be a challenge of EPIC proportions.

This blog has renovation ideas and realities, lots of interior and design inspiration (i’m trying to learn!!) & tells the story of our slow journey from ramshackle to fabulous…well it will be one day soon!
